English Elective Program

The Senior School English Elective Program started in 2016 in order to give students and teachers the possibility to explore the subject in a much more innovative and motivating way. As a result, now 11th and 12th Grade students are able to expand their knowledge of English and other academic areas using a Project-Based Learning methodology, in which they are the protagonists of their own learning.

In this English Elective Program, students have the opportunity to choose a different course each semester according to their own interests and passions. Therefore, this gives them the opportunity to study diverse disciplines in a second language and to discover hidden talents or skills that they did not know they had. 

This program has three fundamental objectives, which are the following:

1. To continue developing English language skills, especially speaking and writing, at a C1 level of proficiency.
2. To increase students’ intrinsic motivation and develop decision-making skills by providing the opportunity to choose courses according to their interests.
3. To develop 21st century skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication through Project-Based Learning.
